For those of you who made it, Thank you for coming!!!
For those of you that could not make it, sorry you missed it!!
The set up crew arrived at 11:00 am to set up tables, get coffee brewing, put some beer on ice and set up some chairs among other things. The first to arrive after the set up crew was Nancy (LaPlante) Quigley. Of course we recognized her, but I have to say it did take us about a minute. We really couldn’t tell it was her until the car stopped. I think we had over 50 people that were able to make it and a good time was had by most! Of course there were a select few who would have preferred to be home to watch the Patriots, Red Sox and/or NASCAR race. Michael Guiliani Jr., his brothers-in-law and Jimmy DiGiovanni were threatened with bodily harm by Vicki Guiliani so they had to stay. They got to listen to the game on the radio so all was not lost. The last to arrive was Bill LaPlante Jr. and his family. Billy, you haven't changed a bit, just had to make a big entrance, didn't ya!? We had people drive up from the South Shore, Haverhill, Royalston, Sturbridge and down from New Hampshire, I believe the prize for furthest drive would be for Camden, ME!! There were also people invited from VT, RI, FL & NY.
There were only a couple people there that we had a hard time figuring out who they were. The one person that has changed the most was TJ LaPlante, being one of the youngest. If Nancy didn’t tell us who this person was, none of us would have ever guessed. Sorry TJ, but you look so different, good but different. The one person that has barely changed at all is Peter DiGiovanni. Yes, Pete you still look the same but with shorter hair. And the other person that has not changed at all is Maureen Dunton, her hair has changed some too! Yes, I guess there were actually quite a few people that really have not changed much over the years, they still look the same. Andrea thinks Paul Dunton still looks the same but I thought he changed quite a bit. Kay & Len Buckland still looked the same to me. It really is too bad we didn't have more people to show up so we could see who else has changed or still looks the same. Maybe next time, right Terry!!!
It was really great to see all the adults who use to yell at us when we were kids, and all the kids we used to hang out with now with their own kids. I never thought I would see half of these people with their own kids. Who ever thought we would grow up? Some of us still haven’t, right Maureen. It was nice to see everyone enjoy themselves. I didn't even mind Ruth Bennett calling me the news paper reporter, it was just like old times. We all sat around exchanging stories, finding out about our kids, showing pictures and then moving on to another group of people and doing the same thing over again. I guess there were a few parents there that found out things about their kids they probably never wanted to know. Maybe next time they can find out a little more.
